MY LATEST WORK
I want this section of the gallery to feel a bit like a feed would on Instagram. Current work will pop up here, then be placed into their relevant galleries as new work arrives.
I went to the beach last night. To feel good, it worked. Warm glow, cool breeze ad wrapping myself in light. This is what it's all about. Peace
Away from Light Painting I get to do some pretty special things. One of those is spend time around Musicians recording. This is Derek Pascoe, taking a break from recording. I truly believe there is a cross over from my art, and "normal" photography. I approach both the same, and the technical things I learn from each, help the other. Thanks Luke for the invite mate. Luke Altmann is quite the composer!
This was the very first "by the line" image ever. I must get that box of tricks back out!
Click to see full image - This is a 3 shot vertical panorama. But each image is a single exposure. Small lights to the left and right of frame are lighting the foreground.
A huge night out with Ollie on the salt. There were these stunning ridges in the salt that became obvious leading lines. So much fun.
I was at my friend Luke's house experimenting with the mini scanner on the violins, this is lit 100% by hand. A perfect use, and asked him to pick up a violin for a quick portrait. No planning, just a quickie that ended up being one of y favourite portraits ever.
I have developed a way to suspend a violin mid air for freedom of movement around it with a light painting scanner. This was a quick test, a happy one.
Salt, fire, say no more.
Down at Mayfair bakery with Phil the owner, showing me all the nooks and crannies. I am almost certain Phil actually did this bit of light painting. There is so much more of this building to explore.
The ghost of Phil. This is upstairs at Mayfair Bakery here in Port Adelaide. A magical place.
This frangipani tree is in our front yard. I had the umbrella up, and the mini scanner out for a play. This is 100% lit by hand.
Ollie and his beast down at Port Adelaide. 100% lit by hand.
This fellow walked into a light painting booth I was running at a Port Adelaide event recently. A trusting fellow.
This image is 100% hand lit in a single exposure! Very patient and still people. This is a very exciting job with a client for an upcoming website.
